Recent coaching outcomes
I’ve been on a journey to help neurodivergent professionals thrive in life, career, and leadership through 1:1 coaching. It’s been transformative for me and my clients, and I’d like to share some coaching client stories:
Tech leader navigating their career options
One client had been thinking through their next career options, contemplating the next 10-15 years, and wanted a coaching partner to navigate their career with clarity. They wanted to have a clear picture and wanted to map it out quickly, so we met for a 3-hour session, working through their values, purpose, vision, beliefs, impact of neurodivergence, and career paths, then mapping out a plan for the coming months. We proceeded to follow the plan, consistently reviewing priorities, key next steps, and the strategies needed to follow through, including organization and time management techniques. We created clarity and momentum. This resulted in a more stable career path in alignment with their vision.
Tech leader burnt out from organizational change
One client had gone through a significant amount of organizational change and landed with a manager that was a mismatch for their leadership style. Burn out had set in and they needed a change. When they contacted me, they did not know what they wanted, personally or professionally. They were used to serving others’ needs. We explored the existing situation and then, their desired situation, identified options to pursue, and they ultimately chose another job within the larger organization, resulting in the path to burn out recovery. From there, we developed their short-term solution to thrive in their career and their long-term path to thrive in the next 5-10 years. And, they clearly know what they want both personally and professionally. They are pursuing their career, hobbies, and passions now; recovering from burn out. They have clarity and momentum.
Tech leader developing influence
One of my clients wanted to improve their ability to influence others, so they could get better alignment at work. Through our exploration, we uncovered that the art of influencing needed to be developed, along with confidence and overcoming imposter syndrome. Each week, we worked on these topics, building strategies, habits, and skills to address them. After three months, they said, “I have become more confident. I am able to influence better.” And, we put plans in place to continue improving in these areas. Through exploration, I never know what root causes are going to come up, but each time, we’re able to create clarity and momentum.
Program manager desiring to be more consistent
One client stated, “I need to be more consistent in my work. I need to consistently engage, show up, and deliver, so that I can perform and grow”. So, we started to dig into what was causing them to be inconsistent. We uncovered a number of things that we could build strategies, habits, and skills around, including, how to manage new work requests so they can accurately assess and commit to when to deliver, their mindset around asking for help, their mindset around fear of failure, and their skill of communicating status regularly. Together, the new strategies, habits, and skills put them on a clear path to becoming more consistent at work and building momentum. As they said, “this has been a transformative experience.”
