ViewPoint Consulting has professional community organizing and coalition building expertise, extensive legislative and political experience, and relationships inside and outside of Olympia. VPCC is highly respected for collaborations on a broad variety of issues, the ability to create coalitions, and build strong relationships with legislators, councilmembers, staff, agency directors, and the lobbying community. Their engagement in policy and coalition building provides synergistic support of client objectives. The consulting portion is led by Tony Yuchasz, who is a policy advisor, lobbyist, and community organizer providing strategic consulting to agencies and nonprofit organizations on issues impacting affordable housing, including policy, revenue, and operating & capital budget matters.
Tony spent 17 years in elective politics, including 15 years as Executive Director of the House Democratic Campaign Committee—the campaign arm of the Washington State House Democratic Caucus and then Speaker Frank Chopp. Tony was the longest serving caucus director in Washington state history, and consecutively served longer than any Democratic legislative caucus director in the country.
During that tenure, Tony oversaw the largest campaign operation in Washington state, managing 50 to 60 candidates and elected officials, over 25 staff positions, and numerous volunteers. He recruited candidates for state and local office, developed relationships with state and local government officials, businesses, and philanthropic organizations, raised money, advised on policy, and managed an $8.3 million biennial budget.
With extensive legislative and political experience, expertise, and relationships inside and outside of state, county, and city governments, Tony collaborates on a broad variety of affordable housing issues, creates coalitions, and builds strong relationships with policy makers, staff, agencies, and stakeholders in support of client objectives.
Tony graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seattle University, with a degree in public administration, and spent 10 years in the Boys and Girls Club Movement where he oversaw a staff of 25-50 employees, directed overall club operations, ran logistics for the annual Boys & Girls Club fundraising auction, wrote and received grants, and authored two winning National Program Honor Awards (1999 & 2000), the highest honor Boys & Girls Clubs of America bestows upon local clubs.
